“Traditional” visit to the Benedictine Monastery

The guided tour of the Benedictine Monastery of Catania in English generally takes place at 13:00: check availability on the calendar and buy the ticket.

Tours in Italian are from Monday to Friday at 11:00, 12:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00. Saturday and Sunday every hour from 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00. Guided tours last 75 minutes around and allow visitors to see all the most relevant areas of the monastery, today Unesco World Heritage of Val di Noto: the two cloisters, the XVI century basement today used as the Library of the Department of Humanities (Unict), the Roman Domus through a wooden contemporary platform, the hanging garden of the novices, the former kitchen and cellar of the XVIII century made by the architect Vaccarini on top of the solidified lava stone from 1669, besides the majestic monumental staircase with its magnificent stuccos.

Groups have limited places: take the tickets for guided tours.

During the traditional guided tours of the Benedictine Monastery, children will have a map specifically made for them to play with the  Monastery
